Trip Proposal Submission Guidelines

Planning for any given sailing season typically begins in July of the previous year. We start by collecting ideas with new, favorite, or unique destinations, themes, or marketing strategies. Also factored in are prior experiences and charter boat logistics.

We encourage all members to participate in this process. If you have an idea for a Sailing Club trip, use the outline below to develop your proposal. Then submit that completed proposal to the Vice Commodore.

Your proposal should contain the following information:

  1. General Sailing Area (i.e., Chesapeake Bay, Long Island Sound, Florida, etc.)
  2. Proposed Schedule
    1. Time of year (optional)
    2. Number of sailing days
  3. Features - list at least one of the following
    1. Destination
    2. Special Event(s)
    3. Overall Theme
    4. Marketing focus
  4. Added Costs (optional)
    1. Group Dinner
    2. Tour
    3. Momento
    4. Other
  5. Any prior experience in this general sailing area (optional)
  6. Any known "unique" travel logistics (optional)
  7. Preferred charter company (optional)
  8. Your contact information
    1. Name
    2. Telephone Number
    3. Email address
    4. Are you willing to be a trip leader? YES or NO

You may submit as many ideas as you like. If your idea is selected for further consideration, you may be invited to make a more detailed presentation to the Board of Trustees. The Vice Commodore can provide you any information you may need should your proposal be selected.

If you would like to observe the trip planning process, visit the Trustees Information page or contact the Commodore for a schedule of meetings.
