The Sailing Club's Penobscot Bay Maine trip lived up to its long awaited promise and more! All hands reported they were delighted at how the weeklong trip had the best of anything one could ever look for in a sailing voyage. Mother Nature cooperated with sailing conditions that ranged from fair to superlative on six of the seven days. The crews of the fleet's three boats developed a wonderful camaraderie, and each port of call offered a unique adventure into Maine's island coastline and its local culture.
No amount of words could capture all of the nooks and crannies of this trip's tale, so really this is a story that is best told by the pictures brought back by our crews. Altogether over 170 photographs have been collected together to create a Penobscot Bay Maine sailing trip CD-ROM. The resulting CD-ROM has been published and distributed to our trip's crew. A sampling of the "best of" those photographs are included in this trip's report. Special thanks to the contributors for making this possible: Carolyn Farnesworth, Corry Grant, George Gross, Jeff Hamer, Joel Mack, Doug Otte, and Jon Stufflebeem.
Thanks to the sailors who worked hard behind the scenes to make this trip possible, and who volunteered to lead our fleet of three boats:
