Coming in 2026: Bienvenidos a Mallorca
Sun-drenched beaches, secluded coves with crystal-clear water, ancient olive groves, and vibrant historic towns await you in Spain’s Balearic Islands. Sample tapas and cava while listening to local musicians. Swim in crystal clear water over a white-sand bottom. Trim the sails for a fast reach to explore another beautiful bay.
We’ll spend seven days absorbing the sunshine, food, and culture of this vacation island. Plan your visit to begin ahead of the sailing trip or stay on a few days after. There’s plenty to do in the Balearic Islands and nearby northeastern Spain.
Itinerary
The following is our plan. Wind and waves may necessitate changes.
Saturday, June 6
Arrive Port de Pollença, Mallorca
We can board the boats at 5:00 p.m. The plan is to do our food shopping in the afternoon. Skippers will check out the boats, after which we can stow our gear and head for dinner. Port de Pollença is a medium size town with plenty of restaurants, hotels, and a couple of grocery stores.
Sunday, June 7
Sail to Es Caló (15 nm)
Es Caló is a secluded anchorage. Fire up the galley stove because tonight we’ll have a traditional Sailing Club appetizer party aboard one of the boats.
Monday, June 8
Sail to Porto Cristo (25 nm)
We’ll spend two nights in the marina in this resort town. Seafood restaurants abound, so plan on dinner ashore and a stroll around town.
Tuesday, June 9
Layover day. Take the opportunity to visit the Cuevas del Drach (Dragon Caves) – a wonderland of stalactites and glowing water. Tours are hourly. We’ll coordinate a group dinner for the second evening.
Wednesday, June 10
Sail to Cala Molto (15 nm)
It’s time to head back, so we’ll stop in another quiet anchorage and take time to reflect on the contrast between busy and relaxing that this island offers.
Thursday, June 11
Sail to Alcúdia (19 nm)
We’ll reserve either moorings or slips in advance for this final night of the cruise. Alcúdia is a small town with restaurants and shops, and Roman ruins to explore.
Friday, June 12
Sail back to Port de Pollença (5 nm)
We can spend this final night on the boat and enjoy dinner ashore.
Saturday, June 13
We must be off the boats by 8:30 a.m. Time to bid farewell to our floating home, and go on to other adventures.

Charter Company and Base
SailMe is new to The Sailing Club and has locations in several Mediterranean ports as well as Martinique and the Canary Islands. The marina is on the waterfront of Port de Pollença, within walking distance of some amenities, and easy taxi to others.
Travel
United has non-stop flights to Palma, Mallorca (PMI), on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. These are red-eyes (as are just about all flights to Europe). Return flights are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Alternatively, many connections can be made all over the continent. Since the trip ends on a Saturday, a mainland connection may be needed.
To get to the charter base, we can take the airport bus to the main bus terminal in Palma, then a direct bus to Port de Pollença. We may be able to arrange group travel if enough of us arrive around the same time.
Be sure that your passport expires more than three months beyond your planned departure date.
Trip Pricing
The cost of the trip is $1,250.00 (Skippers/Trip Leader $726.00). The trip price includes charter fees, boat damage insurance, all slips, moorings, anchoring fees, and dinghies with motors. Provisioning, airfare, and other transportation, park fees, and other incidentals are additional and will be handled by each boat's crew. A $200.00 deposit and Reservation, Release of Liability, and Zero Tolerance Form must accompany your reservation form.
Please make your check payable to The Sailing Club, Inc. and mail it, along with your completed reservation and release forms, to Mia McCroskey at the address below. Reservations will be processed beginning September 22, 2025 with a random draw of those received by that date. All reservations received after that date are on a first-come, first served basis. A second payment of $525.00 will be due on January 15, 2026, and a final payment of $525.00 is due on February 22, 2026.
NOTE: A special cancellation policy applies to this trip. Cancellations prior to April 22, 2026 will receive a full refund. Cancellations after that date are not refundable, regardless of reason, unless a replacement is found. Please review the Club’s trip signup procedure and policies at https://www.thesailingclub.org/trip-policies/#signingup. Travel insurance is NOT included in the trip price. Confirmed participants should make their own decisions regarding insurance that would provide coverage appropriate to their needs, and that they feel best protects them in their individual situations. Two useful resources for comparing plans are www.insuremytrip.com and www.squaremouth.com. As always, read all policy terms and conditions carefully.
A pre-trip meeting will be held three to four weeks before the trip, at a time to be determined and most likely via Zoom. All participants should make every effort to attend in order to meet your crewmates, plan your meals, and coordinate travel plans.
